Diario de la escotilla
La instalación se realizará en varias ventanas de la ciudad de Morelia o en espacios que se montarán a manera de ventanas. Las diferentes clases y formas de ventanas serán representativas de las clases de migración. Por ejemplo, las memorias de las inmigrantes de Austria de 1930/40s serían representadas en ventanas redondas, escotillas, sinónimo de su llegada en barco Las memorias de los emigrantes mexicanos de hoy pueden ser montadas en ventanas o formas de ventanas de autos, autobuses, aeroplanos y también barcos. Otra posibilidad es marcar los sitios/hogares donde los inmigrantes de Morelia vivieron antes de irse.
Diario de la escotilla utiliza fotografías, documentos y textos de las memorias de los inmigrantes de Austria en 1930/40s y también de los emigrantes mexicanos de hoy. Así que partes de la ciudad pueden ser convertidas en Lugares de la memoria. Algunos pueden ser, dependiendo del lugar, permanentes o temporales. |

Diary of the Porthole
The scientific and artistic starting point of this project is to reach memory through texts, documents, photographs and probably objects displayed in a public space.
According to the trend of the 1960s represented by the Story Art, the artist wants to
systematise the memory by means of documents, pictures and objects, like archaeology
is based upon material remains of the past. The artist is not particularly interested either in historical accuracy or objective reconstruction even though she digs or recovers things, since "the seeming scientific nature of the Social Art belongs to its understanding." What really matters to me is that I want to stimulate personal memories, in order to find the fagmentary traces of
memory being left in the life-story of every person, and to connect them with others. The installation Diary of the porthole deals with photographs, documents and texts from memories from immigrants from Austria of the 1930/40s and also from Mexican emigrants of today. So parts of the whole city can be turned to memory sites. Some of the could be temporary others could be constantly, depend on the place. |
