Nuestro proyecto será un monumento efímero a los derechos civiles. Perteneciente a una generación posterior, mi conexión a los momentos importantes de los derechos civiles afro-americanos en la década de 1960, ha sido a través de entrevistas, televisión y recortes de periódico. Estoy interesada en reconstruir los momentos históricos del movimiento a través de fuentes secundarias. Creo que la era de los derechos civiles es formativa en mi desarrollo personal como afro-americana aunque no tenga experiencias directas. Quiero mirarlo a través del lente de las memorias de otros, junto con mis recuerdos de sus memorias.

The project will be an ephemeral civil rights memorial. A generation later, my connection to major moments in 1960s African-American civil rights is through interviews, television footage and newspaper clippings. I am interested in reconstructing historic moments in the civil rights movement through secondary sources. I believe that the civil rights era is formative in my personal development as an African-American, yet I have not had any direct experiences. I am interested in looking at the Civil Right through the lens of memories of others, along with my memories of their memories.
