NOMAD, women on the move

a global project on immigrant women

an Art project created by  5célula artists Elizabeth Ross and video journalist Cristina Fernández with the collaboration of fellow artists Teresa Puig (Spain/Norway) and Dorothea Fleiss (Romania/Germany) on and with immigrating women. We will work on this theme through a video, photo, audio, object installation, researching in the cities we live in among the many women who are affected by migration. It also is part of Transcultural Exchanges organization project Here There and Everywhere, anticipating the art of the future. It involves an antropologhic/action research on Lago de Pátzcuaro region.

Identidades/Identities

Since 2004, 5célula has presented Identidades/Identities Artists International Encounter in Public Spaces. Identidades is the key organizational program of 5célula, aimed at increasing contemporary art presence in our communities. The program links international, national and local artists in an effort to facilitate cross-cultural dialogue through the lens of art and culture. International artists are invited to work on art projects emerging from their own concept of identity, along with a yearly thematic focus such as water or memory. These art projects are developed in the public realm of the streets and directly involve the people that inhabit that realm.  Site in English and Spanish
